What to do
How to pack framed posters
If your beloved posters take centre-stage and are already framed, you may not want to go through the hassle of dismantling the poster and assembling it all over again. But, there is a much easier way to safely pack your posters…
Step One
Remove any dust from your framed poster and in the centre of protective bubble wrap face up to prevent and damage to the back of the frame.
Step Two
Add a piece of cardboard on top of the glass as an extra bit of protection.
Step Three
Place a piece of packing paper on top and secure both the card below in place of the glass with a piece of tape.
Step Four
Using bubble wrap or honeycomb packing paper, wrap the entire frame tightly and secure with tape (be sure to be generous with the tape!).
Step Five
Wrap the frame with packing paper once again (like you would a gift) and be sure to use a label to mark what it is, where it goes or the shipping address!
Step Six
Repeat each step for each individual framed poster.
How to pack unframed posters
For your cherished posters that are unframed, there are two ways you can safely pack them…
Step One
Carefully remove the posters from the wall, taking extra care of the surface you a lifting from (be mindful of any paint!)
Step Two
Place a piece of packing paper down and place the poster in the centre, face up.
Step Three
Add another sheet of packing paper and place another poster on top, again facing up. Proceed to add another sheet of protective packing paper and repeat the process for several posters (we recommend a maximum of 5 depending on their thickness).
Step Four
Once you have your small stack of posters, each with their protective packing paper in between, place one final sheet on top and secure around with tape.
Step Five
From here, you can select the chosen method you prefer to pack your posters either by using the board backed envelope, large letter postal boxes or a tubing roll.
If using the envelope or postal boxes, be sure to secure with tape and wrap with bubble wrap or honeycomb packing paper.
Step Six
If using the tubing roll, be sure to roll the posters down either horizontally or vertically, depending on the size of the tube.
For any lose ends, remember to twist the fold the packing paper into the roll to secure any edges.
Step Seven
Label, label, label! This will help you to remember what poster is where and which room it goes in or who it is being shipped to!
